Danville is a city in Vermilion County, Illinois, United States. It is the principal city of the 'Danville, Illinois Metropolitan Statistical Area' which encompasses all of Danville, Illinois and Vermillion County, Illinois. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 33,904. It is the county seat of Vermilion County.

Danville is situated on the North Fork of the Vermilion River, near the junction of the three branches of the Vermilion River. Danville offers several lakes, many with boating and fishing.

The largest lake, Lake Vermilion, offers year round recreation. The shore line is bordered by many homes with grand views in all seasons.
